Love hot water not running through a plastic tube!

Bought this to replace my last drip coffee maker. I've had it several months now and love the taste of the coffee! Don't know if it is the talk about plastic, but this percolator does not have that hot or burning plastic smell. The coffee doesn't taste as bitter either.
