Stone Street
Stone Street Cold Brew Coffee, Low Acid
COARSE GROUND COFFEE FOR COLD BREWING – We start with gourmet arabica coffee beans from Colombia, then we grind them to the perfect coarse ground size for optimal cold brew extraction.
Brew method · 17 reviewed
The highest-rated ground coffee our team recommends for iced. Ranked by our Coffee Score.
Great iced coffee accounts for dilution before it is brewed. The two reliable routes are a hot-brewed concentrate poured over ice (or flash-chilled, "Japanese" iced) and a cold-brew concentrate. Both aim to keep the cup balanced once the ice melts.
Every coffee below is graded on our five-point specialty standard — no fluff, no pay-to-play:
Stone Street

For flash-chilled iced coffee, brew hot at a tighter ratio directly onto ice so the melt completes the dilution while preserving aromatics and acidity. For a smoother, lower-acid result, dilute a cold-brew concentrate over ice. Either way, brew stronger than usual so the finished glass is not watery.
Grinding multiplies a bean's surface area by orders of magnitude, so volatile aromatics off-gas within minutes and oxidation accelerates staling. That is the central challenge of pre-ground coffee. Prioritize roasters who flush their bags with nitrogen and use one-way degassing valves to halt oxidation, buy smaller quantities, seal them airtight, and use them quickly. Match the grind to your method, since a single grind cannot be optimal everywhere.
Either flash-chill a hot brew over ice for bright, aromatic clarity, or dilute a cold-brew concentrate for a lower-acid, heavier-bodied glass. Brew concentrated to offset ice melt.
No. Cold brew is steeped in cold water for many hours; iced coffee is typically brewed hot and chilled. Cold brew is lower in acidity and heavier in body.
It stales faster because grinding exposes vastly more surface area to oxygen. A quality pre-ground in a nitrogen-flushed, valve-sealed bag, used promptly, still makes a strong everyday cup.
