For flash-chilled iced coffee, brew hot at a tighter ratio directly onto ice so the melt completes the dilution while preserving aromatics and acidity. For a smoother, lower-acid result, dilute a cold-brew concentrate over ice. Either way, brew stronger than usual so the finished glass is not watery.
Capsule freshness and pressure extraction
A capsule's flavor ceiling is set by its oxygen barrier. Sealed, nitrogen-flushed pods preserve pre-ground coffee far better than open bags, while flimsy pods stale quickly.
