  Excellent coffee grinder

  I'm very happy with this grinder. It's quieter - much quieter than my old one and makes a very consistent grind without any powder that I can notice.This is purely subjective, but my old Cuisinart grinder (decent grinder for $45), was so loud, it would wake the dead, or at least anyone sleeping in the house.

  Strong Espresso Grinder

  I purchased this grinder have years of using a burr hand-grinder. I have only had this unit for two weeks, so I can't comment on durability. I make pretty much only espresso, which is the reason that I bought this grinder. I have to say that I am very happy with this grinder.

  Buy cheap buy twice

  I previously bought a cheap burr grinder (see first picture)The coffee grinds where barely suitable for making espresso and withing 2 months the motor struggled to grind the beans (with proper maintenance and cleaning)So i bought the Breville BCG600SIL to replace my other grinder.This grinder is a bit more complex so take your time to read the manual if this is your first purchase.Before assembling, as written in the manual the burr upper and lower element can be removed like any other burr grinder for cleaning.The upper burr part has micro adjustments as explained in the manual.In the tray is the tool to swipe off excess coffee grinds til an exact level (adjustable) and there's also a 51mm blade inside for small portafilters like mine.The hopper is airtight, prevents beans from absorbing moisture which is good so the grinds dont stick everywhere.They include a portafilter cradle for 51mm, doest allow me to fit my funnel on my portafilter (grinds everywhere)I just removed it and hold the portafilter manually straight underneath.I was surprised of silent and consistent the grind was, i was finally able to get good crema and make a perfect espresso with the bottomless portafilter.I know Breville is a good brand as we use it at work.In short,Positive:- easy to use and set up- consistent grinds- silent- spare parts available on Amazon from the internal parts- simple to controlNegative:- portafilter cradle too low spilling grinds, remove to prevent spilling- dosing funnel doesnt work with cradleI finally can enjoy tasty coffee, my first shot i made was perfect after using the settings from the manual for espresso !

  This is a very serious bean grinder, does a perfect job

  If you're serious about pulling shots all day long, then you know this is a good price point as many burr style grinders are well north of a thousand dollars.The grind size adjustment is perfect but as with any grinder, you'll need to play with it when changing beans, oil content, etc.
